Betelgeuse fee methodology

The most useful number is the expected amount delivered for the route. Review it together with network gas, price impact and any provider or integration costs.

Network fees

Blockchain validators or sequencers charge network fees to process source transactions. These fees vary with network activity and transaction complexity and are paid through the connected wallet.

Token approval can require a separate transaction before execution.

Route and integration costs

A route provider may include swap, bridge or protocol costs in the path it returns. Betelgeuse can also be configured with an integration fee for eligible cross-chain routes.

The route response and final wallet transaction are the source of truth for a specific trade.

Price impact and slippage

Price impact is caused by the trade consuming liquidity. Slippage tolerance limits how far execution may move from the quote. Neither should be confused with network gas.

Compare routes using the expected receive amount and relevant costs rather than a headline exchange rate alone.
